Three Nutty Kids

It's autumn time.  Leaves on the mountains are brilliant  this year - probably from all of the rain we had in the spring.  The nights are cool.  And the nuts are falling.  The blue jays love the English walnuts and they will sit on the railroad ties and bang those nuts trying to crack them.  Our grandchildren love to gather them and yesterday we had three willing workers.

Benson was just content to sit on Katie's lap and play with a bowl.

One Year and Counting

Abigail turned one last week.  She is walking now.  She makes us laugh.  She likes to climb up on the dishwasher when it is open.  Her hair is getting long and she looks pretty cute when Bonnie puts it up in a ponytail on top of her head.  So, here's a year of Abigail:

Three Months Already!

Cole will be three months old tomorrow.  I got to take care of him for a little while today.  I am not sure that there is anything better than feeding and rocking a baby while watching them slowly go to sleep.  It was a cold day and he kept me warm!  He smiles a lot and has the cutest dimples.

Conference Saturday

I love General Conference and usually am parked downstairs in front of the TV with paper and pen in hand.  This year it was listening to the radio while all sorts of things were happening at our house.  Inside it started with this five gallon bucket filled with apples.
Our McIntosh apple tree produced about a bushel of fruit this year.  Bonnie and I already did our applesauce, so the remainder went to Megan.  After quartering them and removing bad spots it nearly filled my pressure canner.  The house smelled so good!  Megan's children love to turn the crank and watch the applesauce come down the chute.

The next project was Bonnie's as she made these cute butterfly cupcakes for Abigail's birthday celebration.

She had great helpers!

While we were busy indoors, Kevin, Justin and Joe were outside assembling the shed.  Finally, it is done!  Thank you for all of your help.

With the beautiful weather, we had dinner on the deck.  We knew the cupcakes would be messy, but little did we know:

Abigail was a bit hesitant to try the cupcakes.

Her cousin, Benson, on the other hand dug in before
we could get the tray fastened!
