Fun at Grandma's

I had wanted to get a baby swing for a quite awhile, but we could never find one.  Finally found one last week - thanks, Megan.  Abigail tested it out.  We wondered if she would like it or not. She wasn't sure about it at first, but it didn't take long for her to get in the swing of things - pun intended.

And Then There Were Six

We welcomed Cole, our sixth grandchild,  into our family yesterday.  He is the first grandchild to carry on the Van Ausdal name.  He weighed in at 8 lbs. 8 oz. and was 21 1/2 inches long.

He joins his cousins Ross, Lizzy, Lincoln, Abigail and Benson.

Water Fun

Lincoln was very excited to go down the water slide.  He held his arms out and Megan gave him a toss - down he went!  Benson enjoyed going down the slide as well.

Destruction Day

Thanks to the help of family, the old shed was razed and the beginning of a new foundation was begun over the weekend.  Ross came prepared to help, bringing his
very own work gloves.

He was a hard worker and was so excited when Grandpa gave him some money for helping.  When Grandpa asked him how much he thought he earned, he said $5.00.  Justin suggested he shoot higher, so he went for $6.00.  In the end he got $10.00 and felt like a rich man!  He kept thinking out loud what he could spend his money on.  I think in the end it will be some kind of Lego set.

Weekend with Ross

One thing that I love about summer is having grandchildren come and stay with us.  I love the one-on-one time with them where there are no other little ones competing for our attention.  I love to get to know them a little better and just having fun with them.

I picked up Ross yesterday morning.  He was ready to leave shortly after I got there.  We had some lunch and he got to play computer games for almost an hour!  We picked some peas and went up to surprise his Great-grandparents in Kaysville - and they really were surprised and happy that we came to visit.  We visited the farmer's market in Bountiful and then came home.

Ross likes to build things and he put together the safari track set.  Nobody to share with!

After a run to our favorite yogurt shop, he was pretty tired and was excited to sleep on the queen-size blowup bed downstairs.

Helping in the garden - he loves the fresh peas!
